Meet Our Staff
Christine R. Barnum
Christine R. Barnum is the Office Manager of the Law Offices of Randal M Barnum. Chris graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University in 1981 with a degree in psychology. She was a Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at West America Bank and served as branch manager of the Benicia Office.
Chris is very active in the community. She has served as School Board President of St. Dominic's School and St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School. She has also worked with Benicia Community Action Council for over twenty-five years on the Meals on Wheels program. She serves as a children's liturgical minister at St. Dominic's Church. Chris has lived in Benicia for over 30 years with her husband, Randy. Chris and Randy have two daughters, Stephanie and Jackie.
Cindy Hovanec
Cindy has an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Germanna Community College. She has been with Barnum & Avila for five years. Cindy's prior work experience includes working in various schools as a teacher's assistant, playground supervisor, and crossing guard. In addition, Cindy has experience as a claims adjuster for a major insurance company. She is married with two boys and enjoys working out, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Terri Maccarone
Terri Maccarone has been a legal assistant for three years having joined the firm in 2020. She has substantial experience working with clients. Prior to coming to the firm, Terri worked for many years in the health care industry in California as a research analyst/ health care consultant with SRI International in Menlo Park and Health Industries Research Center in Santa Cruz. Terri received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a major in business and a minor in Spanish. Terri is bilingual and is fluent in Spanish.
She possesses great interpersonal skills and enjoys interacting with and addressing clients’ requests for employment consultations with the firm’s legal team with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. Terri and her husband Rob have lived in the SF Bay Area for over 40 years. They have a daughter Dana and a son Chris.
